About the Job:
The City of Bethel, Alaska is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as the Water/Wastewater Utilities Foreman. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, reviewing, and evaluating the work of staff providing water production and distribution, wastewater treatment, and routine/emergency maintenance on City piped water and sewer systems.
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the water and wastewater utilities department.
- Ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective communication and smooth operations.
- Responding to emergencies on a 24-hour basis as assigned.
Requirements for Success:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of experience in water/wastewater treatment and distribution operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Possession of State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) certification in the following:
- Water Treatment Level II
- Water Distribution Level II
- Wastewater Collection Level II
- Wastewater Treatment Level II
