High-Performance Engineering Expert

We're partnering with a leading financial institution to build a cutting-edge engineering squad delivering real-time, event-driven solutions at scale. This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity to work on one of the most high-profile transformation programs in the country.

The Role

You'll join a cross-functional engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices and event streaming architectures using Apache Kafka and Node.js.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in high-volume, low-latency environments, and can translate business requirements into robust, production-ready services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable microservices in Node.js for financial platforms.
  • Design and implement high-throughput, fault-tolerant Kafka event streaming pipelines.
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Optimise system performance, scalability, and reliability in a regulated financial environment.
  • Ensure best practices in security, testing, and CI/CD are upheld.
Skills & Experience
  • Expert in Apache Kafka (design, administration, optimisation, and stream processing).
  • Proven experience building scalable microservices with Node.js.
  • Strong background in event-driven architecture and real-time systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker).
