The Department of Cyber Security is seeking highly skilled Cyber Security Specialists to join its high-performing ICT cyber security team. As a key member of the Digital Service Division Infrastructure space, you will be responsible for providing technical and non-technical advice to departmental programs in relation to security architecture best practices.



About the Role



In this exciting opportunity, you will be working on the forefront of cyber security, writing and presenting security documentation to both technical and non-technical staff. Your expertise in reviewing and providing cyber guidance on application, infrastructure and system integration designs relating to PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight will be invaluable in shaping the future of cyber security.



Key Responsibilities




  • Security Documentation: Write and present security documentation to both technical and non-technical staff
  • Technical Advice: Provide technical and non-technical advice to departmental programs in relation to security architecture best practices
  • Cyber Guidance: Review and provide cyber guidance on application, infrastructure and system integration designs relating to PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight
  • Raising Awareness: Raise awareness of security issues with technical and non-technical departmental staff
  • Implementing Essential Eight: Implement Essential Eight in other Government agencies which includes technical uplift and guidance to a variety of stakeholders


Requirements and Qualifications




  • Technical Experience: At least 5 years' experience in a technical cyber advisory role within government
  • Clearance: Must hold a current NV1 Clearance
  • Azure Cloud Infrastructure: Demonstrated experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services, in particular around technical assessments


Desirable Skills and Qualifications




  • Complex Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Judgement and Communication: Has sound judgement and the ability to work under pressure with limited supervision to produce high quality outcomes
  • Security Risks: Awareness of and ability to anticipate and communicate the impacts of security risks
  • Relationship Building: Ability to develop strong productive relationship, communication skills and issue resolution
  • Technical Security: Ability to articulate and document technical security artifacts


Salary and Benefits



The salary for this role is estimated to be around $110.00 to $130.00 per hour, including superannuation. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will also be entitled to a range of benefits, including a 12-month contract with the option to extend for a further 2 years, subject to approval.
