We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Remote Accounting Specialist. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with analytical capabilities to support our financial operations and strategic decision-making in a distributed work environment.

The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day financial operations while providing data-driven insights to support business growth. Working with modern tools like Xero and Harvest, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Mastering daily accounts receivable, payable, and general ledger operations with flawless bank reconciliations">
  • Streamlining invoicing processes and ensuring accurate expense capture with Dext">
  • Navigating multi-state payroll tax and Workers Compensation requirements">
  • Coordinating Australian R&D and tax compliance with external accountants">
  • Creating profit and loss reports by consultant and building dynamic financial dashboards">
  • Monitoring utilisation rates and uncovering cost-saving opportunities">
  • Optimising Harvest time tracking and developing efficient finance policies">
  • Ensuring seamless employee onboarding into financial systems">

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 3+ years of experience">
  • Xero accounting software expertise and advanced Excel skills">
  • Multi-state payroll tax, workers compensation, and multi-currency knowledge">
  • Australian R&D taxation regulation understanding and a current Criminal Record check">
  • A strong background in accounting principles, practices, and regulations">
