Empowering Support Specialist

**About the Opportunity**
This is a permanent part-time position available at HomePlace, SA, working over the 7-day week, including AM, PM, and Passive Sleepovers. The hourly rate is $37.93 - $75.86 depending on days and time of day worked, plus leave entitlements, allowances, and salary packaging.
The primary function of this position is to provide direct support to individuals who have contracted HomePlace as their provider. Additional responsibilities include facilitating connections and relationships that assist in creating social and economic participation for the person being supported.
As a Senior Support Worker at HomePlace, you will be responsible for providing person-centred active support with participants over a 7-day weekly schedule which will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
The role also includes overseeing the day-to-day management of the supports in the person's home, facilitating team meetings and effective communication, and mentoring and supporting team members.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Providing direct support to individuals with intellectual or other disabilities and their families
- Supporting individuals with complex healthcare needs and delivering high-intensity support in a person-centred manner
- Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to enhance participant well-being and outcomes
- Mentoring and supporting team members to develop and implement best practice, person-centred active support
**Requirements:**
- A minimum of two years of experience in working with people with intellectual or other disability and their families
- Extensive experience in supporting individuals with complex health care needs and delivering high-intensity support in a person-centred manner
- Confidence in assisting with behavioural challenges
- Proven experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to enhance participant well-being and outcomes
- Certificate IV specialising in Disability Studies and/or Human Services and/or substantial experience in this or a similar role
