Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the procurement of tactical equipment for Defence.

This role involves:

  • Procurement, capability planning, developing procedures, data analysis and coordination of Defence projects;
  • Project managing equipment procurements, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Cases and tendering activities;
  • Coordinating and managing Third Party Retransfer and Technical Access Agreement process to ensure compliance;
  • Evaluating, planning, negotiating and managing Government Furnished Equipment and Data process within governance framework and procurement guidelines;
  • Developing Authorisation to Operate (ATO) documentation, managing process including risks and scheduling activities to meet delivery milestones;
  • Actively participating in risk management activities such as raising and managing risks, attending project risk reviews and providing updates in Predict;
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to ensure project interests are aligned;
  • Providing communications input to technical team with developing system requirements;
  • Attending meetings to update on progress of key project activities and accepting new activities as scope adjusts;
  • Contributing to government monitoring and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a government or Defence environment;
  • Understanding of Defence Capability Life Cycle;
  • Experience in similar role;
  • Ability to build trusted and valued relationships with project team members;
  • Process driven and attention to detail are essential;
  • Effective problem solving and time management abilities;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • A current or expired security clearance is required;
  • Candidate must be an Australian citizen due to requirement to hold a security clearance.
