Mechanical Electrical Engineer Project Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Electrical Engineer to oversee the commercial aspects of complex building services projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cost plans, feasibility studies and detailed estimates for MEP services across various project stages.

  • Advise on procurement strategies, prepare tender documentation and evaluate bids from M&E contractors.

  • Administer M&E contracts including valuation of variations, interim payments and final accounts.

  • Monitor and control project costs, track expenditure and provide comprehensive cost reports and forecasts.

  • Identify and assess commercial risks related to MEP installations and advise on mitigation strategies.

  • Optimise cost without compromising quality or performance through proactive value engineering.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams and contractors providing expert commercial advice.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor in Australia.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and public health systems and their associated costs.

  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Solid knowledge of standard forms of contract relevant to building services in the Australian market.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills capable of presenting complex information clearly.

  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field. Professional accreditation is highly desirable.
