Austin Health is a major provider of tertiary health services, professional education and research across Melbourne's north-east and state-wide.

The Emergency Department sees approximately 80,000 patients annually, including about 20% paediatric cases. Our goal is to assess, manage and admit patients within the targets set by the Emergency Services Enhancement Program.

The Short Stay Unit is a 24-bed unit with paediatric, adult and mental health beds, closely associated with the Emergency Department and staffed accordingly.

As a Theatre Technician, you will support and collaborate with the Equipment Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Equipment Nurse with daily stock management tasks for clinical and non-clinical areas.
  • Surveillance, storage and maintenance of ED equipment stocks and stores.
  • Maintenance and repair of Emergency Department equipment as needed.
  • Liaising with the hospital supply department and external suppliers for ordering and purchasing supplies.
  • Maintaining safe work practices and environments through hazard reduction, reporting incidents and promoting accident prevention.

  • Capacity to increase EFT hours on a needs basis to facilitate leave cover for the ED Equipment Nurse.

This role offers competitive remuneration at approximately $95,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
