About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to shape the educational landscape and inspire the minds of future generations. As a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy - Clinical Education, you will play a key part in shaping the next generation of occupational therapists by educating and supporting students as they build their clinical skills and undertake professional placements.

You will join a dedicated team committed to delivering a high-quality, sustainable placement program while helping to create new and innovative opportunities for students to gain authentic, real-world experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Educating and supporting students as they build their clinical skills and undertake professional placements.
  • Developing and delivering higher education curricula that cater to the needs of undergraduate students.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to explore inter-professional learning opportunities and engage with occupational therapists in the public, private, and community sectors.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate educator who can bring energy and insight to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment where students are empowered to succeed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Effectiveness as a teacher including the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching.
  • Research experience and potential including refereed publications, participation in research teams, and sound knowledge of research methodologies relevant to the discipline/field.
  • Evidence of leadership of quality clinical education of undergraduate students in various forms: simulated, telehealth, external, and internal placements.
  • Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies, community groups, and/or in professional practice and evidence of leading development of new partnerships.
  • Strong personal qualities and collegial approaches that contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to high levels of engagement and standards of achievement for both staff and students and evidence of leading staff.
  • Evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.
