Systematic Macro Research Analyst Position Overview

This role involves providing research and analytical support for a Systematic Global Macro hedge fund team based in Sydney.

The successful candidate will work closely with multiple members of the team on solving quantitative investment problems and must be self-sufficient in their approach to work. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing systems and processes integral to our investment approach, working with team members on quantitative problem-solving, and providing research and analytical support for the investment team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement systems and processes integral to our investment strategy.
  • Work closely with team members on solving complex quantitative investment problems.
  • Provide timely and accurate research and analytical support to the investment team.

Requirements:

  • Background in economics, mathematics, engineering, physics, or computer science is highly preferred.
  • A strong desire for excellence and an active commitment to learning are essential.
  • PhD qualification and 3-5 years of experience in the financial market are ideal.
  • Proficiency in Python programming is mandatory; experience with Matlab is strongly recommended.
  • Familiarity with data providers such as Bloomberg, Datastream, or Factset is beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills are critical for success in this role.
