Cost Planning Specialist

Deliver accurate cost control solutions to clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

About the Role:
  • Develop tailored cost management approaches that meet client requirements and standards.
  • Implement, administer, and maintain robust cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a comprehensive Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and support change control processes.
  • Design and apply Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), aligning time-phased budgets against Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for precise actual cost tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrate cost estimates with WBS, setting project budgets accurately against relevant Work Packages, Planning Packages, and Control Accounts.
  • Adhere to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for managing, controlling, and reporting cost data.
  • Lead accruals production to ensure timely reflection of Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) in cost data.
  • Support change processes by providing cost information for change notes and underpinning forecasts.
  • Update project forecasts for comprehensive and aligned Estimate To Complete (ETC).
Requirements:
  • Expertise in Project Controls, specializing in Cost Engineering/Control, across various sectors and the project lifecycle.
  • In-depth understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with multiple teams, leveraging multi-disciplinary knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership behaviors, and influence, manage, motivate, coach, and develop team members.
