Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow to join our team at the University of Southern Queensland. The successful candidate will conduct research to explore next-generation composite geotechnical engineering support elements with robust strength properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a cohesive research profile under the guidance of a mentor or supervisor, focusing on advancing expertise in geotechnical engineering.
  • Conduct a comprehensive literature review, execute systematic experimental studies, perform data analysis, and prepare detailed reports for industry partners.
  • Compile progress reports, participate in industry meetings pertinent to the research project, and effectively communicate and disseminate research outcomes.
  • Establish and build collaborative research partnerships with various partners.
Requirements
  • An Honours degree or higher qualification in textile engineering or manufacturing, or geotechnical/mining/civil engineering with manufacturing experiences or equivalent tertiary qualifications. Progression towards completion of a Doctoral qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant experience in advanced composite manufacturing, pultrusion, braidtrusion, vacuum infusion, injection moulding, multifunctional composites, compression moulding, extruder designing, polymer resin infusion, and other composite manufacturing expertise. A willingness to learn geotechnical/manufacturing engineering concepts under the direction of the mentor is preferred and encouraged.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
