The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing strategic procurement activities in support of a major defense program and its supply chain.
The project is currently in the detailed design phase, including the procurement of long lead items, and our team is working closely with stakeholders to deliver specific requirements.
- Define and execute strategic sourcing strategies, project management, and schedule planning, while proactively managing complex contracts.
- Ensure value for money and timely delivery while mitigating subcontractor risk.
About You:
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role within a defense or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ASDEFCON is highly regarded.
- In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and contracting principles and best practices.
- A proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and other business value through sourcing strategy development and implementation.
- Project management skills to manage procurement and contract management activities to agreed timelines and budget constraints.
- Sophisticated understanding of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.
- Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and business case development.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role depends on obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
