Water Resources Engineer Role

The Water Resources Engineer will provide technical leadership and expertise in the delivery of substantive hydrologic and hydraulic aspects of engineering design and analysis for a range of multi-disciplinary projects. This role requires an experienced engineer to apply their skills and knowledge to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver surface water projects across various sectors, including transport, renewable energy, and sustainability.
  • Guide key projects and mentor other staff as Technical Lead, Project Manager or Project Director.
  • Oversee the application of software tools to facilitate impact assessment, risk assessments, concept design, and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, data science/analytics or similar with industry experience.
  • Knowledge of guidelines and methodologies relevant to the role (e.g. ARR 2019 methodologies and techniques).
  • Experience supporting infrastructure design through the application of various hydrologic and hydraulic packages.
  • Ability to apply hydrologic and hydraulic skills in transport infrastructure or large multi-disciplinary projects in the resources, renewables, or tailings sectors.
  • Hands-on experience delivering significant hydrology/hydraulic projects.
  • Proficiency with advanced tools such as CFD, risk assessment software, programming packages (Python or R), and civil design packages.
  • Ability to provide technical mentorship for others.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and strong business acumen, with the ability to stay ahead of industry trends.
