Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Manager to join our team at Boral North America. As a key member of our Commercial department, you will play a vital role in providing commercial and contract management support across various projects.



About the Role


This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Sydney. You will be responsible for managing the pre-award and post-award phases of our business, negotiating with clients for favorable contract terms and conditions, and serving as a key point of contact with our legal team.



Your Key Responsibilities



  • Provide comprehensive commercial and contract advice to management
  • Review client contract terms and conditions, identifying non-favorable clauses and leading client negotiations and drafting contract documentation
  • Participate in the handover from tender to project execution
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Boral's Contracts and Commitments Policies and Procedures
  • Assist production personnel in investigating and responding to claims, assessing our level of responsibility based on contractual provisions, quantifying claim value, and finalizing any claims
  • Manage the contracts formation function with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain a contract database
  • Monitor and review subcontractors' and suppliers' compliance and performance


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Demonstrable experience in performing a similar role
  • Proficiency in structuring contracts and drafting legal provisions
  • A strong level of experience and knowledge in contract law and relevant experience in contract negotiation
  • Experience in a contracting environment, along with managing numerous different forms of contract
  • Built-in construction industry experience is highly desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, or Business
