Sports Groundskeeper

Role Overview

We are seeking a Groundsperson to join our team at the Australian Turf Club Limited. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the course proper, training tracks and grounds at our Racecourses ensuring they are presented in the best possible condition.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, tracks, gardens and maintenance instructions.
• Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general spray operations.
• Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces.
• Work closely with the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse Manager to ensure that the grounds are maintained to the highest standard.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
• General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery such as a manual vehicle, front end loader and forklifts (as applicable).
• Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader and Excavator would be desirable.
• Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
• A demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
