Director of Planning and Community Development

We are seeking a highly experienced visionary Director to lead our Planning and Community Development Department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving meaningful change, fostering community collaboration, and overseeing diverse services across a growing region.

The Director will steer a broad portfolio that includes strategic planning, economic development, community resilience, waste management, environmental health, and more.

The primary responsibilities include advising on key strategic matters, managing relationships with stakeholders, leading a high-performing team, and championing the organization's vision, values, and standards.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Economics, Business, Planning, or a related field
  • Significant Experience in senior leadership roles within local government or a similar setting
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic outcomes through effective resource management and people leadership
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build effective partnerships
