Senior Mechanical Engineer in Berrima NSW

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and provide engineering services as we continue our journey towards excellence. You will primarily be accountable for investigating, designing, and providing effective engineering support to our Major Capital Projects Project Managers.

With a focus on front-end mechanical design and scoping work, you will support the design and delivery of new capital equipment across our construction materials portfolio, including equipment for quarries, concrete plants, asphalt plants, and cement facilities with alternative fuel systems.

You will report to the Principal Mechanical Engineer and work on a permanent, full-time basis at our Berrima NSW location.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and analyze problems to prepare conceptual solutions for our Major Projects portfolio.
  • Evaluate and estimate costs, monitor progress, and report on engineering scope.
  • Sizing process equipment, including material handling, logistics concepts for transport, storage, and production capacity.
  • Site investigation to define necessary measures in coordination with nominated plant responsible for process requirements.
  • Prepare Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents and evaluate technical tenders from suppliers.
  • Project manage studies and investments focused on design aspects for project scope.
  • Assess and approve drawings from internal and external sources.
What We're Looking For:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated experience within a heavy industrial site.
  • Experience with process equipment, handling systems, operating conditions, and typical design problems of old equipment.
  • Experience in design for industrial investment projects and knowledge of equipment/service costs, material handling for capital project estimation.
  • Experience in developing CFT documents.
  • Proficiency in design software (AUTOCAD, INVENTOR, Microsoft Project).
  • Able to troubleshoot and commission industrial mechanical projects, resolve engineering issues, and provide mechanical technical support.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
