The ILS Head of Discipline will provide leadership across the ILS discipline throughout Vehicle & Tactical Systems within our organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

As an ILS Head Of Discipline, you are accountable for:

- Deploying adequate practices and tools tailored to reach the required maturity according to project/product delivery challenges
- Working with the ILS discipline delivery team to make them efficient - identify gaps and associated actions to support delivery continuous improvement
- Encouraging adoption of new tools, processes and methodologies in the ILS Discipline
- Capitalising on and sharing knowledge and assets
- Allocating Operational Subject Matter Experts on coaching engineering people
- Managing, developing people/skills & allocation to products/projects
- Contributing on Bids/Products and Projects peer reviews to reduce technical/engineering risks and increase confidence to deliver

Key Knowledge and Experience

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

- Empowering and uniting employees around clear objectives as a coach and servant leader, which mobilises influencing and 'team first' skills
- Deep understanding of cost estimation and knowledge management for ILS related activities
- Reliability engineering, maintainability engineering and maintenance (preventive, predictive and corrective) planning
- Supply (spare part) support and test equipment/equipment support
- Experience in the design of Support Systems and the interfaces between Mission and Support systems
- Experience in supporting the ILS lifecycle from concept through to delivery
- Continuous improvement of best practices
- ILS activities in both acquisition and sustainment projects
