Part Time Kitchen Hand Required

We are seeking a part time kitchen hand to work in our busy childcare centre. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing meals for children in a safe and hygienic manner, following strict guidelines of food preparation, and strictly monitoring the service of food to ensure that allergies/medical conditions are catered for.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and verbal communication skills, as well as a belief in high quality work ethics. Working experience in a child care setting is highly regarded, but not necessary. If you have a Food Safety Handler's Certificate or are willing to obtain one, and a Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one, we look forward to hearing from you.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals for children in a safe and hygienic manner
  • Follow strict guidelines of food preparation
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Monitor the service of food to ensure that allergies/medical conditions are catered for
  • Prepare the weekly grocery order for the Centre

Requirements:

  • Food Safety Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Excellent time management and verbal communication skills
  • A belief in high quality work ethics
  • Preferred experience in working in a child care setting
