We are seeking a highly skilled Boiler Maker to join our team at Walpett Engineering, a family-owned company in the structural steel, metalwork, and metal finishing industry. Our top priorities include customer satisfaction, product quality, and staff safety.
The ideal candidate will possess various technical skills, such as welding, and be able to work with a variety of tools. This role is physically demanding, requiring strength, coordination, and manual dexterity.
About the Role
Primary duties will involve working in the workshop, fabricating, cleaning, and rebuilding equipment. The annual earnings for this position range from $70,000 to $80,000.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Fabricating metal products and structures
• Creating and testing boilers
• Reading and understanding mechanical and workshop drawings
• Performing tasks such as casting, cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Meeting quality standards and performing regular stock-taking
About You
To be successful in this position, you will require:
• A fully qualified Boiler Maker certification
• At least 3 years of trade experience
• Experience with various types of steel, mobile plant, and industrial machinery
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• A current forklift license
Certifications such as WHS White Card, Asbestos Awareness, and High-Risk accreditation are beneficial but not mandatory.
