Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. Our workshop is based in Rocklea, Brisbane.

In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our 100+ waste collection vehicles.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles within a fleet of 100+ waste collection vehicles
  • Perform mechanical trades work as a heavy diesel mechanic, diesel fitter, light vehicle mechanic, or auto electrician as applicable
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with transport laws and company procedures
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain attention to detail

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical trade qualification (heavy diesel mechanic, diesel fitter, light vehicle mechanic, auto electrician)
  • Experience in the maintenance of a range of heavy vehicles
  • HR licence is a must; MC & FL are desirable
  • Safety-focused mentality
  • High attention to detail
  • A team player with a can-do attitude
