Trade Yard Team Role

Mitre 10 Katoomba seeks a skilled Trade Yard Team Member to join our team. This position involves a variety of tasks including working in the trade yard, picking and packing orders, loading and unloading trucks, stock replenishment, and general cleaning.

This role will play a vital part in fostering a collaborative environment and delivering exceptional customer service. You should be approachable with a positive attitude and take pride in providing excellent customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing physical work with some heavy lifting required
  • Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
  • Ensuring accurate stock control, checking deliveries against company policy
  • Maintaining health and safety standards for staff, customers, and contractors
  • Providing timely and accurate deliveries with a focus on customer service
  • Assisting customers in the trade yard, helping them with orders, and offering fast and efficient service
  • Picking orders for delivery trucks
  • Putting away stock, mainly timber and associated products
  • Working effectively in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team

Requirements:

  • Current Forklift license (an advantage)
  • Timber and hardware product knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • Demonstrating ability to work in a team environment and unsupervised
  • Excellent customer focus, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines effectively
  • Physical fitness to be on your feet all day
  • An eye for detail and sense of urgency
  • Flexibility to work across five days of the week, including occasional Saturday mornings
