A Competitive Salary

We offer a competitive salary of AU$70,000 - AU$90,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.

Job Description

This is a permanent, full-time role based either at our Sydney manufacturing operations in Macquarie University or in Lane Cove. As a Maintenance & Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum availability and safety of manufacturing equipment and services. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring maximum availability and safety of manufacturing equipment and services
  • Undertaking scheduled maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment and services in accordance with Cochlear's Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Taking ownership in resolving unscheduled (breakdown) tasks relating to plant and equipment and addressing product yield related issues resulting from plant and equipment failures
  • Collaborating and supporting other business needs by completing Cochlear Service Portal requests assigned to the Maintenance and Calibration (M&C) Department
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Electronics Trade Qualification is highly desirable
  • Possess proven abilities in the maintenance and calibration of specialized manufacturing equipment or test systems
  • Strong planning and scheduling skills ensuring planned work orders are completed within regulatory timeframes
  • Display a systematic approach to resolving unscheduled events
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical information for documentation purposes
  • Proficient computer skills – Windows and Office suite
