About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects such as JP9347 Joint Data Networks. You will be responsible for contributing to the project's engineering activities from requirements development and market solicitation to acquisition through to introduction in to service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the planning and execution of the project engineering program and participating in engineering engagement with industry as part of a holistic contract management approach
  • Conducting requirements and specification development
  • Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders, and providing mentoring to junior engineers
  • Developing engineering advice to project leadership on the engineering program, and development of briefings and other formal correspondence to project/program leadership
  • Review for acceptance of contract deliverables and supporting or executing whole of system level certification activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (or Engineers Australia recognised equivalent), plus ideally postgraduate qualification(s) in a relevant field
  • Analysis, design, review, and delivering high quality engineering documentation to support government approvals and delivery
  • Initiative, creativity and responsibility to perform a range and variety of complex technical work activities with limited guidance
  • Managing technical and integration risks, and applying testing and evaluation techniques across the system development life cycle
  • Formal qualifications in communications, or other technology specifically relevant to tactical data links
  • Understanding of defence processes and structure

Please note that due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
