Are you a skilled pharmacist looking for a leadership role in a dynamic dispensary team? We are seeking a highly experienced Pharmacist Team Leader to manage our Central Dispensary, servicing public and private hospital inpatient wards in a full-time, permanent position.

Mater Health Services, South East Queensland comprises a unique collection of two public and four private hospitals at South Brisbane, Springfield and Redland caring for over 500,000 patients each year. Mater Pharmacy provides a clinical service to all inpatient areas and outpatient clinics, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of this community.

As a Pharmacist Team Leader, you will work closely with hospital staff and the pharmacy team to deliver a consistently high level of clinical pharmacy service to all areas of Mater Health. Your time will be split between clinical service provision and managerial responsibilities, including rostering and coordinating workload allocation, coaching and mentoring, and providing regular feedback and assessment of staff performance.

You will be responsible for operationally and professionally managing a team of pharmacists and technicians to deliver a consistently high level of clinical pharmacy service, providing customers, patients, carers and other health professionals with support and information relating to medication and ensuring the safe, effective and quality use of medicines to optimise patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide responsive customer-focused service
  • Rostering and coordinating workload allocation
  • Coaching and mentoring to encourage accountability and support team members
  • Providing regular feedback, assessment and development of staff performance to enable career progression and succession planning
  • Collaborate with ward managers and other key stakeholders to improve patient care
  • Leadership of and contribution to quality improvements including implementation of pharmacy automation systems in the dispensary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy and APHRA registration to practice as a Pharmacist (without restrictions)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Pharmacist
  • The flexibility to work a share of all shifts including evenings, weekends, public holidays and on-call
  • Prior demonstrated experience in ward-based clinical pharmacy will be highly regarded
  • ANZCAP recognition at registrar or consultant level in a relevant specialty area will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a leadership position will be highly regarded
  • Previous exposure and experience in pharmacy automation will be highly regarded
