Casual Librarian

Cairns Regional Council is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Casual Librarian to join our team. As a Casual Librarian, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer-focused library services and resources to our community.

• Deliver High-Quality Library Services
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of customer-focussed library services and resources are provided to the community.
• Lead and Support Front-of-House Services
  • Lead, support and deliver excellent front-of-house services and operations across various Library venues.
• Develop and Lead a High-Performing Team
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to build a high performing team that is results oriented.
• Contribute to Strategic Goals
  • Contribute, through excellent individual and team efforts, to Cairns Libraries strategic goals and objectives.

• Qualifications and Experience
  • ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association) accredited undergraduate or post graduate tertiary qualifications in library and information studies and eligibility for ALIA professional membership – Associate (AALIA).
• Skills and Abilities
  • Strong customer focus, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Other Requirements
  • Current Qld Drivers Licence and ability to independently drive between all library and business locations to meet operational needs.
  • Qld Working with Children Blue Card or eligibility to obtain.
