This is a unique chance to join the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic) as a Senior Policy Advisor, working with a talented team to drive policy initiatives and contribute to the development of Victoria's security and emergency management reform agenda.

About the Role

The Senior Policy Advisor will provide high-level advice and support on strategic policy issues, program and budget matters to help create safer and more resilient communities. The ideal candidate will have strong policy, analytical, and brief writing skills, as well as high-level communication, conceptual, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic policy advice and support on key issues
  • Develop and implement policy initiatives to drive positive change
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build effective relationships and achieve desired outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of Victoria's security and emergency management reform agenda

Requirements

  • Proven strategic policy skills and experience in policy development and implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex concepts and data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex briefs and reports
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
