Early Years Support Specialist

The role of an Early Years Support Specialist is a dynamic and challenging position that requires an experienced professional in early childhood intervention to deliver supports to families and children, empowering them to achieve their goals through evidence-informed best practice.

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an exceptional candidate who can deliver tailored support options to each child and family, using assessments, observations, and their understanding of child development.
  • The successful applicant will empower families, caregivers, and professionals, helping them build skills and confidence to support children in their everyday lives using their coaching skills.
  • They will also connect children and families with their community to ensure they are included and can participate in the settings and activities they choose.
  • Maintaining thorough records of conversations, developmental progress, and goals in our business system is a crucial aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in child development and identify developmental issues effectively.
  • Show a proven track record of supporting families and children with developmental delays/disabilities, including the implementation of effective strategies for families to practice at home and other settings.
  • Display comprehensive knowledge of the NDIS Early Childhood Approach and early childhood intervention best practice principles and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood/ Education.
