Job Summary

Metal fabricators are skilled craftsmen who work with metals to create various products.

  • They read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Select metal stock and check sizes, gauges, and dimensions for pipe brackets, drainage covers, pump bases, and tank structures.
  • Prepare steel components for fabrication, including weld preparation, grinding, and sanding.
  • Assemble and weld steel components.
  • Drill holes and make other necessary cuts according to drawings.
  • Finish products by polishing, filing, sanding, and cleaning assembled products as required.
  • Clean the area and mark out metal stock with reference points and lines, using templates, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Repair damaged sheet metal products and components and report low inventory levels to supervisors.

Requirements/Skills Qualification:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience in metal fabrication, strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, and the ability to understand basic calculations and manual work.

Additional Requirements:

They must be able to use tools and machinery accurately and have attention to detail and accuracy.

What We Offer

A great salary package from $60,000 to $80,000 per year, plus superannuation. This is a full-time position with an 8-hour day shift in a supportive and friendly work environment.
