About the Role

The Swimming Pool Barrier Compliance Officer is a key position within Singleton Council, responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of swimming pools in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation
  • Promote swimming pool safety and provide timely and accurate advice to pool owners
  • Maintain excellent customer service and relationships with key stakeholders
  • Promote Council's Swimming Pool Barrier Inspection Program through community engagement activities
  • Serve Orders/Notices under the Swimming Pools Act 1992 and other relevant Acts or Regulations
  • Issue swimming pool Compliance Certificates for swimming pool safety barriers where appropriate

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legislation, regulations, and codes applicable to swimming pools
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, presentation, and public relation skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Registration as a Swimming Pool Inspector with NSW Fair Trading (formerly E1) is advantageous
