The Site EHS Specialist will join our team and play a critical role in managing field personnel to ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures. This individual will also be responsible for developing and maintaining site-based programs, conducting audits, and providing recommendations for improving EHS performance.

This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EHS policies and procedures and be able to adapt to changing situations.

EHS Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site-based EH&S programs.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS procedures and best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective EH&S programs.

Qualifications:

  • Technical/University degree or qualifying experience in industrial Safety/Safety related field or experience equal to 5 years or more work experience and training in Safety or an industry-related field OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS or an industry-related field.
  • Must have completed OSHA 30 Training.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent or working towards an Occupational Safety qualification.
  • Knowledge of in-country safety regulatory requirements, familiar with OHSA regulations desirable.
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of the risks involved in the maintenance of equipment in the power generation industry.
  • Pass a required drug test and background investigation.
  • Proficient in English language.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications.
