Overview

The School of Communication at the Queensland University of Technology is seeking highly qualified sessional academics to support learning and teaching across a broad range of study areas within the Bachelor of Communication.


Salary

We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around $80-$100 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Please note that this is an hourly rate and will be calculated based on the number of hours worked.


Job Description

As a sessional academic, you will be responsible for supporting the teaching and assessment of students in various study areas, including Media and Communication Industries, Journalism, and Strategic Communication. Your primary duties will include:

  • Preparing and delivering high-quality learning materials and assessments
  • Providing feedback to students on their work
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and performance

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, or currently enrolled in a Master's program
  • Relevant industry experience, preferably in a related field
  • Experience in teaching and assessing, either as a lecturer or tutor
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues
