The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Medical Imaging Specialist to provide high-quality imaging services across Ultrasound and other Medical Imaging modalities. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering a high-level medical imaging clinical service, applying independent professional judgement to complex caseloads, and ensuring patient care issues are managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality imaging services across Ultrasound and other Medical Imaging modalities, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
  • Apply independent professional judgement to complex caseloads, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Manage patient care issues, including liaison with other clinicians, clinical departments, and external providers.
  • Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced clinicians and support the ultrasound training of Medical Officers and students.
  • Assist with departmental non-clinical tasks as delegated by the Director of Medical Imaging, Assistant Director, and Modality Section Leaders.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a high level of Ultrasound knowledge and experience, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of medical imaging principles and practices is essential.
