Job Title: Mechanical and Hydraulic Specialist

We are seeking experienced professionals to perform fitting work in our large engineering workshop and assist with mechanical and hydraulic servicing on board ships.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Disassemble, measure, and inspect components
  • Request required spare parts
  • Operate workshop equipment including overhead cranes, Hydraulic Torque Tooling, and various mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Rebuild, repair, and overhaul mechanical and hydraulic components from small to large scale ship equipment
  • Participate in safety training and ensure a high standard of housekeeping at all times
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and plan your job using drawings and job cards
  • Ensure you fully understand instructions and requirements of a job before starting
  • Organize your work area and any job materials in order to facilitate safe and efficient work
  • Fitness to walk up and down ladders on ships and ability to confidently work in tight spaces
  • Use your trade and other relevant training to maximize accuracy, quality, conformity, and efficiency of each job
  • Contribute towards company objectives, including zero safety incidents and zero re-work
  • Plan jobs to minimize downtime and optimize resources
  • Be open and willing to learn and use new skills

**Requirements:**

  • Relevant trade qualifications essential
  • At least 5 years work experience with proven track record in ship repair and maintenance or oil and gas
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, engineering drawings, instrument and hydraulic diagrams, and specifications
  • Ability to select appropriate tools and materials, make clear notes for completion reports, and work in a professional manner
  • Ability to measure jobs and complete dimensional inspection reports
  • High focus on safety and positive attitude, willing to learn and can-do attitude
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and police checks
