About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Accountant to join our dynamic team at Bebee in Brisbane. As a Forensic Senior Associate, you will apply critical thinking and analysis skills to identify key issues with financial and non-financial information and report on these within the commercial litigation unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Damage Assessment: Evaluate and report on damages in trade practices disputes, insurance claims, business interruption, and other matters.
  • Expert Report Analysis: Examine expert reports and assist in the defence of a claim.
  • Court Support: Assist Courts, Counsel, and solicitors to understand damages claims.
  • Evidence Preparation: Evaluate and prepare evidence for prosecutions or defendant cases.
  • Entity Valuation: Value entities that were part of the matrimonial pool.
  • Asset Investigation: Conduct investigations to determine the existence and ownership of assets.
  • Business Structure Analysis: Examine both simple and complex business structures to establish the relevant interests of the parties involved.
  • Client Interaction: Proactively conduct client interactions to receive and discuss client information.
  • Team Management: Manage and delegate client work to members of the forensic unit, including the review of work and ongoing feedback.
  • Technical Development: Develop technical knowledge and create training for staff and/or potential clients.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Work with Directors on more complex technical issues.
  • Performance Review: Participate in the Performance review processes of junior staff, assisting in the setting and monitoring of performance-related goals.
Requirements
  • Working Rights: Full working rights in Australia.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience within Forensic Accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Previous experience within Tax/Business Services, with strong technical skills.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar; working towards or completed CA/CPA qualifications preferred.
  • Industry Relationships: Established relationships within the legal and commercial environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge Development: Continuing interest in developing and maintaining knowledge of current and evolving economic, business, and industry issues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work with changing and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
