About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Sous Chef to join our team at Kiyomi restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency in our dishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage daily kitchen operations, including payroll, costs, and guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in menu planning and development to ensure a diverse and exciting range of dishes.
  • Assist with rostering and leave applications to ensure seamless team coverage.
  • Develop and implement training plans to support the growth and development of our team members.
  • Participate in shift briefings to ensure a smooth handover and maintain high standards of service.
Requirements
  • Senior Chef experience in a 5-star environment or large restaurant.
  • Previous experience in a high-quality Japanese restaurant is highly regarded.
  • Experience driving quality and consistency, with a passion for a diverse range of food and a keen desire for continuous learning.
  • Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchens.
  • Previous knowledge of food and labour cost controls.
  • A warm, naturally engaging personality that takes pride in delivering a memorable product.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Full working rights to commit to 40 hours a week, including day shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
