At Mind Australia, our Community Mental Health Practitioners play a vital role in supporting individuals to return to the community and live independently.

We are seeking experienced professionals with tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related fields to join our team as Community Mental Health Practitioners.

This role is ideal for motivated and compassionate individuals who enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and have experience in providing therapeutic support.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for engaging clients using brief interventions, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and family-inclusive practice.

  • Support individuals to return to the community and live independently
  • Engage clients using evidence-based therapeutic approaches
  • Plan and deliver group programs to promote recovery and skill-building
  • Collaborate with healthcare services to ensure coordinated and integrated support
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field
  • Minimum 12 months' experience working in a similar mental health role
  • Proven capability to implement therapeutic frameworks and practices, including risk mitigation, trauma-informed care, and family-inclusive practice

Please note that all applicants must possess current First Aid and CPR certificates.
