This 24-month fixed-term role is based in Melbourne and reports to the Executive Manager Engineering.
You will lead the technical development and delivery of utility-scale BESS projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and optimising technical and commercial outcomes.
- Lead engineering design and delivery of BESS projects from early development through commissioning
- Prepare technical scopes, RFQs, and manage contractor and consultant deliverables
- Collaborate with grid teams and NSPs to manage connection requirements
- Support contract negotiation, project planning, and risk mitigation
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering inputs and ensure regulatory compliance
- Engage with stakeholders including EPCs, consultants, and internal project teams
- Technical leadership and direction for BESS projects
- Project planning, coordination, and management
- Contract negotiation and risk assessment
- Stakeholder engagement and communication
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in energy infrastructure, specifically with battery storage projects
- Strong understanding of HV electrical design, BESS integration, and Australian standards
- Experience working with EPCs/Head Contractors or as owner's engineer in BESS project delivery
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
