Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Non Certified

At Hy-Vee Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician - Non Certified to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician - Non Certified, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting our pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications, including gathering patient information, entering prescription and patient information into the computer, and preparing prescriptions for dispensing.
  • Answer telephone calls and provide helpful service to customers who call.
  • Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
  • Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgment.
  • Accept new written prescription orders and telephoned refill requests at the discretion of the supervising pharmacist.
  • Take orders from or call doctor's offices for refill prescriptions.
  • Order, check-in, and stock pharmacy supplies.
  • Log invoices as necessary.
  • Perform cash transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing area.
  • Assist with third-party insurance billing and trouble shooting.
  • Adhere to all statutes and regulations pertaining to a pharmacy technician.
  • Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
  • Report to work when scheduled and on time.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working towards a licensed technician certification through a certified national program.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk is preferred.
  • If applicable, vaccination certification as required by law.
Working Conditions:

This position frequently involves a fast work pace in a retail store setting. Must be able to handle multiple tasks every day. There is an occasional exposure to dangerous chemicals/solvents while compounding products and chemotherapy drugs.
