Senior Farm Manager Role Overview

Our client, a leading poultry farm in Carisbrook, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Senior Farm Manager to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring the welfare of the poultry livestock, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Assistant Farm Managers to oversee farm operations and ensure optimal living conditions for the poultry.
  • Manage and coordinate staff tasks to build a cohesive team environment and drive business efficiency.
  • Plan feed and gas usage to optimise resource efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor shed conditions to support bird welfare and performance.
  • Provide daily reports to maintain transparency and operational efficiency.
  • Address maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Manage subcontractors responsible for key maintenance tasks.
  • Respond swiftly to farm alarms to ensure the safety of the flocks.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, plus superannuation.
  • Fully maintained 4WD utility vehicle for daily operations.
  • Onsite accommodation with utilities included (water, gas, power).
  • 5 weeks of annual leave to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing broiler farms or intensive indoor livestock operations, with a focus on growth rates.
  • Skills in managing, rostering, and leading farm staff.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Physical fitness to thrive in a dynamic farm environment.
  • Full Australian working rights.
