Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for leading the development assessment process and providing expert advice to Council members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development assessment process, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies
- Provide expert advice on complex planning concepts and matters to Council members and stakeholders
- Contribute to Council's strategic planning initiatives and business improvement processes
- Develop and mentor a small team of planners to deliver high-quality work
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in development assessment and planning
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a politically sensitive environment
- Expertise in negotiating positive outcomes with high-level customers
- A generous superannuation scheme
- 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
- Fortnightly RDOs
- Flexible working arrangements
- Annual uniform allocation
