Exciting Opportunity for a Principal Planner

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for leading the development assessment process and providing expert advice to Council members and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development assessment process, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies
  • Provide expert advice on complex planning concepts and matters to Council members and stakeholders
  • Contribute to Council's strategic planning initiatives and business improvement processes
  • Develop and mentor a small team of planners to deliver high-quality work
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in development assessment and planning
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a politically sensitive environment
  • Expertise in negotiating positive outcomes with high-level customers
