Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the delivery stage of large complex electricity transmission construction projects within our Beauly to Peterhead Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SSE team and manage multiple external contractors to ensure project excellence is achieved and we deliver on our promises.
  • Manage the development and execution of large capital projects, ensuring the safe delivery to programme, cost, and the necessary quality.
  • Ensure the project adheres to our Safety Management Systems, best practices, and the SSE Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance processes.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the SSE Safety Culture and core leadership values.

Requirements:

  • A strong project management, engineering, or construction background and understanding of applicable health and safety regulations, including CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven track record in the successful delivery of large projects.
  • Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes.
  • A driving license and a willingness to travel to site 2-3 days a week during construction.
  • Experience managing large electricity transmission projects would be great, but experience in managing major construction projects from other industries, coupled with the desire and ability to learn quickly, is equally valid.
