Austin Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Equipment Specialist Lead to join our team. This is a critical role that requires exceptional communication and leadership skills, as well as a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the biomedical engineering team and ensuring that all medical equipment is monitored and serviced to maintain AMAF compliance. You will also be required to develop processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and workflow throughout the department.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a large health agency environment and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. They will also possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively self-manage and allocate priorities.

About the Role

  • Manage the centralised medical equipment model for all nominated medical equipment within the organisation.
  • Develop processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and workflow throughout the department.
  • Act as the escalation point for the service team to provide technical support, direction, and training.
  • Build and maintain a dedicated team culture that promotes innovation and digital reform.
  • Monitor and support staff to achieve KPIs to ensure service demands are met.
  • Constantly strive for continuous improvement with plans to implement and embed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a large health agency environment.
  • Proven interest in pursuing a career in Health Services.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively self-manage and allocate priorities.
  • Understand how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
  • Understand how Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) align with this role.
