Expert Mathematics Educator

Chifley College is a multi-campus educational institution established in 2000 to enhance the learning opportunities for students in the Mount Druitt area. With an enrolment of 654 students, including 20% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as well as 52% Pacific Islander students, our campus is committed to improving education standards through literacy, numeracy, differentiation, and explicit teaching.
The school has received significant funding to support student learning outcomes, including equity loading for Aboriginal background, English language proficiency, low level adjustment for disability, and socio-economic background. Our flexible Well-being funds, Beginning Teachers funds, and Professional Learning funds ensure that the school is well-resourced, caters to individual needs of staff and students, and addresses various aspects of education in our school.
Effective classroom practices are continually improved with staff professional learning being key to ensuring this outcome. This learning will enhance both literacy and numeracy levels through excellent teaching, improved data analysis, and support for individualised and differentiated learning.
Strong partnerships are evident with parent forums, the Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), local Aboriginal Elders, partner primary schools, universities, TAFE, local businesses, industry, and community organisations.

- Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills, focusing on students with additional learning needs.
- Proven ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive, and fosters a culture of high expectations.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
