Geoworld is an international consultancy providing professional services in applied earth sciences.
Our team spans engineering, geoscience, data science, and related fields. Offices are located worldwide with a collaborative approach enabling complex challenge solutions for clients and partners.
The role combines field and office work on various projects including site investigations, construction monitoring, and engineering geology assessments.
- Field responsibilities may include geotechnical investigation, assessment, design, and construction monitoring at mine sites for waste management facilities, open pits, underground excavations, access roads, and building foundations.
- Geotechnical, engineering geology, and water resource assessments for pipeline, transportation, community, and power projects.
- Surface and groundwater assessments for environmental baseline studies, water supply projects, remediation works, water management infrastructure, hydrologic assessments, and engineering geology risk assessments.
Job requirements include a strong academic background, relevant work experience, and a willingness to travel and work in diverse conditions.
Key Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant undergraduate degree in Civil (Geotechnical/Hydrotechnical/General) or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.
- 0-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent written, presentation, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software is an asset.
- A second language is an asset.
- A post-graduate degree is an asset.
Familiarity with soil mechanics, dam design, rock mechanics, hydrogeology, hydrotechnical engineering, geomorphology, geophysics, field mapping, and technical writing is an asset.
