Design Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Design Assistant to join our Women's Apparel Design & Buying Team. This permanent full-time role offers generous staff discounts and flexible work arrangements.

The successful candidate will assist in the ranging & product development process, supporting the Womenswear team in all duties required to meet set deadlines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new styles added after buy meetings and throughout the season
  • Organize style numbers and file relevant details for the relevant season
  • Prepare range boards for range meetings
  • Coordinate preparation for range meetings and buy meetings, ensuring samples, image references, and mood board are ready
  • Ensure all preparation for VM Handover meetings is completed prior to scheduled meetings
  • Maintain samples
  • Photograph, steam, and hang all samples purchased overseas and locally
  • Order and chase seasonal Campaign & PR samples

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent (preferred)
  • 1-2 years' experience in a Design or Buying Assistant role or similar
  • Prior Women's Fashion Apparel experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Understanding of graphic textile print also desirable
  • Demonstrated hand sketching ability
  • Proficient computer literacy skills, including competency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure
  • Analytical, excellent accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
