Growing Basketball Participation Coordinator

The role of a Participation Growth Specialist is pivotal in driving basketball participation expansion. This position focuses on building strong relationships with young people, sparking their interest in basketball, and converting that interest into lasting involvement in the sport.
- Lead efforts to grow basketball participation across schools, camps, and programs.
- Establish partnerships with schools and community groups to promote basketball and secure new opportunities.
- Oversee delivery of engaging school clinics, assemblies, and promotional sessions to introduce basketball to large groups of students.
- Maintain a comprehensive schools engagement calendar to ensure maximum coverage throughout the year.
- Monitor, report, and meet participation growth targets set by the association.
This position requires a sales-driven mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines effectively. The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker who can engage and energize school groups, have a passion for sports and creating opportunities for young people, and possess proficiency in Microsoft Office and online registration systems.
To succeed in this role, you must be highly organized, able to work independently, and have a customer-focused approach. Relevant tertiary qualifications in sports management, sales, education, or recreation are essential, and experience in community sports, program sales, or school engagement is highly regarded.
