Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Assist NDIS participants and their families to identify needs through assessment and person-centred planning.
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans within complex support spaces.
  • Develop meaningful goals and strategies using positive behaviour support frameworks.
  • Ensure individual plans reflect NDIS participant goals, passions, and strengths.
  • Build knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those supporting participants in their lives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor less experienced practitioners.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in improving the independence, access, development, health, wellbeing, and function of our NDIS participants. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality support that makes a real difference in people's lives.

To be successful in this role, you will have a current suitability confirmation from the National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Core or Proficient level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. You will also require experience in mentoring and supervising other Behaviour Support Practitioners, excellent time management and organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
