Job Title: Solicitor
About the Role:
The NSW land title system requires legal expertise to ensure its integrity, security, availability, and performance.
We are seeking a qualified solicitor to join our team as a temporary employment opportunity.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing clear, concise legal advice and representation across a range of legislation administered by ORG including legislative interpretation and review.
- Assisting with regulation of NSW's land titles operator through the LPI Concession Deed, and of Electronic Lodgment Network Operators through the electronic conveyancing regulatory framework.
- Drafting legal and policy documents including contracts, service agreements, briefing notes and correspondence, to ensure the provision of efficient and effective legal services.
- Assisting with governance structures to support ORG's oversight, including preparing agendas and minutes of meeting.
- Research and draft advice to facilitate appropriate outcomes for ORG.
- Assist key stakeholders on a range of matters and requests for advice to facilitate exchange of information, completion of tasks and meeting critical deadlines.
- Contribute to the maintenance and updating of registers and precedent systems to ensure the integrity of data, and consistency of legal services.
- Assist in developing and providing guidance or training material to the business to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will be admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and hold a current practising certificate.
You will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
